Dancing with confidence
Hello!
my name is Sarah, and I have taught ballroom dance in the Oklahoma City area since 2013, following my time as a Teacher Assistant in the Ballroom Dance program at the University of Oklahoma. I have competed with my students in competitions across the US and in Canada, bringing home multiple Top Student and Top Teacher awards. Competing and performing Pro/Am with my students is one of my favorite parts teaching dance. i placed in the Top 5 Teachers on the Superstar Dance Series national competitive circuit all three years i competed. I am thrilled to be an instructor at Shall We Dance? and 3Sixty Entertainment Powerhouse in OKC.
I have trained with US and World Champion dance professionals in a range of styles from ballroom and latin to swing to country western, and In 2023 I earned a National Champion title in country western. In 2021, i had the amazing opportunity to work on the blockbuster film "Killers of the Flower Moon" with one of Hollywood’s most esteemed choreographers. I have also trained State and National pageant titleholders on their stage work. Beyond this, I have been certified in Motivational Interviewing, an evidence-based counseling method that empowers my students to set and reach goals.
my community involvement includes fundraisers for OKC Beautiful, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, the Children’s Miracle Network, the Edmond Chamber of Commerce, and the Oklahoma Jewish Federation. i also work with Forever Yours, a local foster-based dog rescue for some of their events, including photographing the adoptable dogs. i studied Photography at the University of Oklahoma, and recently took an intensive sewing curriculum in order to design, sew, and rehab ballroom dance costumes.
I love the challenge of taking my students out of their comfort zones and showing them they can do anything.
